“Mining companies transferred profits for 500 million Dollars”, published in the newspaper Diario BAE on 05/13/2013

The large mining companies that operate in Argentina are now able, thanks to an authorization from the Central Bank of Argentina, to transfer 7 million Dollars per day to their head office. This “partial” opening (as defined by the multinational companies) started in late January, this year and allowed companies to repatriate profits daily: transfers total 500 million Dollars. The companies had not been allowed to carry out transfers since October 2011, when the government prohibited, through a decree, the benefit that mining and oil companies enjoyed to liquidate their exports abroad.
