The junior mining company Mariana Resources issued an official statement in which the company reported the start of its 2011 drilling campaign at the Los Amigos project, located 110 kilometers south of Unidad Minera San José, at the central zone of Macizo del Deseado. The Los Amigos project, which covers 13,455 hectares, is operated by the Peruvian Hochschild Mining (majority shareholder at San José) which formed a joint venture with Mariana for this exploration. According to the information given by Mariana, this exploration campaign aims to confirm the results obtained in the previous campaign, during which 19 new targets were identified, 12 of which are of induced polarization and 7 geological.
