Argentine PTO: statistics for 2012

The Argentine PTO released the numbers for patent, trademark (including oppositions) and design patent filings for 2012, thus providing a basis for comparison with the activity carried out in 2011.

Argentine PTO: statistics for 2012

The larger number (totals for patent, trademark, trademark oppositions and design patent filings) show a slight decrease of 0.8%, from 107,297 filings in 2011 to 106,400 in 2012.

A closer analysis shows that patent applications have barely grown (+0.2%), trademark applications have grown acceptably (+5,2%), design patent applications have grown strongly (+10.9%) while trademark oppositions have decreased sharply (-23%).
