Mining company Troy Resources, operator of “Casposo” project located in Calingasta, successfully performed on 12/11/2010 the first casting, obtaining the first dore bar. It is within a function testing program that the company is performing to adjust the machinery and process, to have the mine in commercial production by February 2011. Casposo is the third gold mine to come into operation in the Province of San Juan, its construction began a year and a half ago, and it is adjusting its casting tests, with gold and silver melting. The mining operator estimates its commercial production for 2011 first quarter, with a mineral stock-up of 70,000 tons and a grade higher than 9 grams per ton of equivalent gold. The mine will be the first one in the province that will make silver bars as well as dore metal.
