The Federal Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development presented a "Report on the Status of the Environment". Minister Sergio Bergman declared that among the main objectives of his administration is forestation, as well as soil and water protection, and climate change. |

Precautionary measure to suspend the release of genetically modified organism events was rejected |
The Federal Court of Appeal on Administrative Law Matters, in re “Gimenez, Alicia Fany et al. v. Ministry of Agroindustry et al. on precautionary measure”, upheld a decision that had rejected a precautionary measure to suspend the release of new genetically modified organism events. The Court understood that the preventive and precautionary principles provided by Law No. 25,675 were not applicable, since there was no evidence of a risk of serious or irreversible damage to the environment or to the health of the people. |

Suspended sentence given to an architect accused of contaminating with hazardous waste was overturned |
The Federal Criminal Court of Cassation overturned a ruling that had declared suspended sentence for an architect who had constructed a building where a service station previously operated without carrying out a land assessment and without removing the elements that produced soil contamination with hydrocarbons. |

“Presentaron el ‘Informe del Estado del Ambiente’ y hay alerta por la deforestación”, publicado por Clarín el 20/04/2017 |
El Ministerio de Ambiente y Desarrollo Sustentable de la Nación presentó el "Informe del estado del ambiente". El ministro Sergio Bergman manifestó que entre los objetivos principales de su gestión se encuentra la forestación, así como la protección del suelo y del agua, y el cambio climático. |

Revocaron medida cautelar tendiente a suspender la liberación de eventos de organismos genéticamente modificados |
La Cámara Federal en lo Contencioso Administrativo, en autos “Gimenez, Alicia Fany y Otros c/ Ministerio de Agroindustria y Otros s/ Medida Cautelar”, confirmó la decisión que había rechazado una medida cautelar tendiente a suspender la liberación de nuevos eventos de organismos genéticamente modificados. La Cámara entendió que los principios preventivo y precautorio de la Ley 25.675 no resultaban aplicables, toda vez que no se había acreditado un peligro de daño grave o irreversible al ambiente o a la salud de las personas. |

Revocaron probation a una arquitecta acusada de contaminar con residuos peligrosos |
La Cámara Federal de Casación Penal revocó una sentencia que había declarado la suspensión del juicio a prueba a una arquitecta que había construido un edificio donde antes funcionaba una estación de servició sin haber hecho un estudio del terreno y sin retirar los accesorios utilizados anteriormente que produjeron contaminación del suelo con hidrocarburos. |
