Miguel B. O’Farrell, acting as Sole Panel Expert in (i) the WIPO Case No. D2016-2116 “Taylor Wimpey Holdings Limited and Taylor Wimpey PLC v. Annette Johnson, Tangerineuk” issued a decision ordering that the disputed domain name <tay1orwimpey.com> be transferred to the first complainant; and (ii) the WIPO Case No. D2016-2069 “Taylor Wimpey Holdings Limited and Taylor Wimpey PLC v. Annette Johnson, Tangerineuk” issued a decision ordering that the disputed domain name <cepabe.com> be transferred to the complainant. Doing Business in the United States
Marval, O’Farrell & Mairal organized together with Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton LLP, a working breakfast on "Doing Business in the United States”, where Sergio Ellmann, Diego Krischcautzky and Diego Fernández introduced the presentations given by Marc Lieberstein, Greg Cinnamon and Ray Aghaian. In particular, Sergio Ellmann participated in the panel “Business Relationships in the USA: Licensing, Co-Branding, Joint Ventures or Franchise?”, Diego Krischcautzky participated in the panel “Cross-Border Transactions: Tax Considerations and Corporate Structures” and Diego Fernández in the panel “Cybersecurity and Data Protection”. The event took place in our offices on December 6, 2016.

On November 30, 2016, Diego Fernández -current co-chair of the KnowledgeNet Argentine Chapter of the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP), participated as organizer of an IAPP meeting in which Juan Cruz González Allonca, former DPA of Argentina, Eduardo Bertoni, current DPA of Argentina and José Alejandro Bermúdez Durana, former DPA of Colombia, discussed on the impact of the GDPR in Latin America, including how the EU reform may impact the current and future amendments happening in Latin America as well as how it will affect interpretations of the current statutes.
