Subsidy to the fourth month of maternity leave in the province of Cordoba

The Legislature of the province of Cordoba enacted law No. 10,342 on April 6 2016, which grants a subsidy to the fourth month of maternity leave in the province.

This subsidy consists of the extension of the ordinary maternity leave set forth in the current legislation, for one month from the termination of said leave.

Beneficiaries of this subsidy are women who work in labor relationships in the private sector and who render services in an effective, regular and normal basis in the province of Cordoba. Both childbirth and adoption are included.

In order to obtain the benefit, the woman must request leave of absence without payment of salary for a period of thirty (30) calendar days immediately after the termination of the maternity leave. The communication should be made by formal means to the employer before the commencement of the maternity leave.

The amount of the subsidy will be equal to the maternity allowance granted by the Social Security System, but may not exceed the sum of twenty thousand pesos (AR$ 20,000).
