Benefit Amounts for Persons with Disabilities are Readjusted
The Ministry of Health and the National Agency for Disability readjusted the benefit amounts applicable under the Comprehensive Care Benefits System for Persons with Disabilities, which provides vital aid such as hospital admissions and education.

By Joint Resolution No. 10/2021 of May 21, the Ministry of Health and the National Agency for Disability increased the benefits applicable under the Comprehensive Care Benefits System for Persons with Disabilities. This is the second readjustment made in 2021, the previous one being in January (via Joint Resolution No. 2/21 of the Ministry of Health and the National Agency for Disability).
As detailed in the Annex to the Resolution, the readjustment will be divided into three non-cumulative tranches. Thus, 21% will apply retroactively from April 1, 2021 and 9% and 4%, respectively, will apply from July 1 and October 1, 2021. An additional 20% is added to the basic benefits provided in the provinces of the Patagonian area, as that area is deemed “inhospitable.”
The nomenclator of basic benefits for persons with disabilities contains matters of vital importance for people in Argentina who have been awarded a Unique Certificate of Disability pursuant to Law No. 22,431. This Certificate provides benefits that range from early stimulation and educational support professionals to hospitalization for rehabilitation, and then goes on to food, housing, foster homes, schooling, educational centers, and job training. This was established by the Ministry of Health and Social Action through Resolution No. 428/99 and has had successive readjustments, for example, by the Resolution in question.
Our pro bono work program celebrates this willingness to readjust. This measure provides relief to all persons with disabilities in Argentina, especially in light of the fact that these benefits had not been readjusted in 2020.
