A recent resolution by the Argentine Tax Authority amended the procedure to enter the Authorized Economic Operator Program, which seeks to optimize foreign trade operations.

The Argentine Tax Authority (AFIP, after its acronym in Spanish) issued General Resolution No. 5107/2021, through which the applications regime for the Authorized Economic Operator program was updated.
The program grants operators certain benefits to ease the management of their foreign trade operations. It was established by the AFIP through General Resolution No. 4451/2019 and was based on Pillar 2 of the CUSTOMS – BUSINESSES relation of the SAFE regulatory framework of the World Customs Organization, which established principles and standards to facilitate and secure global trade.
General Resolution No. 5107/2021 brought various updates, like the digitalization of the application process.
What are the program’s benefits?
The benefits include priority at borders, priority in the assignment of verification for physical and/or documentary control operations, green selectivity channel, use of global guarantees for their operations, operational simplification, among others.
Who can apply to the program?
Potential applicants may be importers/exporters, customs brokers, customs transport agents, carriers, bonded warehouses permit holders and cargo terminals, PSP/Couriers postal service providers, and other persons related to foreign trade.
