New official fees in Argentina

On July 14, 2006 Decree No 878/2006 was published in the Official Gazette modifying the official fees involved in the prosecution and grant of trademark and patent applications. These fees are in force as from 24 July 2006.

New official fees in Argentina

 

In relation with patents the main aspects of these changes are:

1. The Official fees involved in the prosecution will be almost equal for any application without depending on the different alternatives that may arise.

2. They mainly refer to the following stages of prosecution:

a)    Filing: The official fee for filing an application has been changed as well as the fee corresponding to the claims in excess of ten.

b)    Substantive Examination: The official fee for the substantive examination request has been changed as well as the additional fees corresponding to the claims in excess of ten.

c)    Official Action: No fee will be paid at the time of filing a response unless the applicant made use of any of the three 30-day extensions.

d)    Letters Patent: No fee will be paid at the time of obtaining the Letters Patent but the Official fees for annuities have been modified.
