New Measures Governing Long-Distance Interjurisdictional and Intercity Transportation

By means of Administrative Decision No. 2057/2020, the Argentine Chief of Ministers, together with the Ministry of Health, authorized the use of interurban and interjurisdictional long-distance public passenger transportation service by air, land and rail, to those reached by the Administrative Decisions issued by the Chief of Ministers in his capacity as Coordinator of the “General Coordination Unit of the Integral Plan for the Prevention of Public Health Events of International Importance.”

On November 7, the National Executive, through Order No. 875/2020, extended the current lockdown and social distancing order until November 29. Thus, by means of this new Administrative Decision, those persons exempted from lockdown and authorized to circulate outside jurisdictional limits will be able to move around using the public land, rail and air transportation system.

To do so, they must apply for the “COVID-19 Emergency Circulation Certificate” issued by the Secretariat of Public Innovation, available on Argentina’s website.

Finally, the exception authorizing the use of transportation services is granted for the sole purpose of carrying out authorized activities only and in accordance with the protocols that the National Health Authority has approved for those means of transportation.
