Federal Criminal Procedure Code: New Jurisdictions
The Ministry of Justice ordered implementing the Federal Criminal Procedure Code in more jurisdictions across Argentina.

Through Resolution 143/2025, issued on March 20, 2025, the Ministry of Justice reactivated the progressive implementation of the Federal Criminal Procedure Code (CPPF) by ordering it be implemented in all of Argentina.
As of August 11, 2025, at 12:00 AM, the CPPF will come into effect in the jurisdiction corresponding to the Federal Court of Appeals on Criminal Matters of the City of Buenos Aires and the Federal Court of Appeals on Economic Criminal Matters.
Further, as of December 1, 2025, at 12:00 AM, the CPPF implementation will extend to the jurisdiction corresponding to the Federal Court of Appeals of Corrientes and the Federal Court of Appeals of Resistencia.
The CPPF implies a radical change in the way crimes are investigated, imposing a strictly accusatory system, the core characteristic of which are oral proceedings. The goal is to provide criminal proceedings with greater agility and dynamism by adopting a more modern and less formalized system, optimizing efficiency in the administration of justice.
