Amendment of the National Code of Civil and Commercial Procedure
Law No. 25,488, published in the Official Gazette on November 22, 2001, introduced an important reform to the National Code of Civil and Commercial Procedure. Some of the amendments introduced are the following: judges will be granted broader powers; there will be other means for serving notices, such as by notarial certificate, telegram and registered letter; the transmission of public notices on television will be allowed; the immediate eviction of lessees will be permitted in the event of lack of payment or expiration of the lease. The new regulations will be in force within six months.
