Mobile Operators Won’t Have to Provide Information About Their Plans
The aim is simplifying the relations between companies and the public administration.

On August 22, 2024, the Secretariat of Industry and Commerce issued Resolution 226/2024, repealing Resolution 176/2014 of the former Secretariat of Commerce.
Resolution 176 required mobile communications service providers to submit monthly reports before the former Secretariat of Commerce detailing all the plans offered across every service provision modality.
Additionally, the Resolution established that providers had to include the prices of all services and any other complementary information for each plan. This information had to be submitted through a sworn statement.
In its recitals, Resolution 226 notes that the regulation and supervision of communication services are the exclusive responsibility of the designated regulatory authority. Consequently, it is an overreach of the Secretariat to implement price control policies for mobile communication services.
