Limitations to Beneficiaries’ Choice of Health Care Providers

On July 7, Decree 438/2021 (the “Decree”) was published in the Official Gazette restricting the choice of Heath Care Providers to 1 (one) time per calendar year and reinstating the minimum of 1 (one) year of permanency upon joining new employment as a requirement to change Health Care Providers.
Pursuant to the Decree, those who (...) “start an employment relationship must maintain the Health Care Provider corresponding to their branch of activity for 1 (one) year before being able to exercise the right to change providers.”
Therefore, this measure has a greater impact on employees entering new jobs or starting to work as from Thursday, July 8, who will have to wait at least one year to request a change in their Health Care Providers.
