“Argentina, increasingly attractive for mining investments,” published in El Cronista (City of Buenos Aires) on 02/28/2012

The Fraser Report, which is published every year and compiles 96 jurisdictions globally, has set a high mark for Argentina as a destination for mining investments in terms of general policies to develop the activity, based on interviews with executives of global mining exploration. The report has outlined progress, especially in the Provinces of Rio Negro, Catamarca, and Salta.
“The PPI (Policy Potential Index) hassignificantly improved its average in Argentina, with most of the jurisdictions upgrading their rating and Rio Negro, Catamarca and Salta showing the greatest progress” states the report.
Rio Negro has moved from the 69th position to the 41st in the ranking. Catamarca has risen from the 61st to the 43rd and Salta from the 55th to the 38th.
