National Critical Information Infrastructure
The Secretariat of Public Innovation of the President’s Chief of Staff Office, within the framework of the National Strategy for Cybersecurity, declared the Electronic Document Management (EDM) system as a new Critical State Information Infrastructure.

The Secretariat of Public Innovation of the President’s Chief of Staff Office issued Resolution No. 36/2020, which declared the Electronic Document Management system (“GDE”, after its acronym in Spanish) as a new National Critical Information Infrastructure. The objective underlying this decision is to strengthen the information system that cuts across the entire National Public Administration.
Its inclusion is framed within the Argentine Cybersecurity Strategy, whose objectives include the recovery of public sector information systems and the protection of critical national information infrastructures (for more information, please click here).
In this regard, the Argentine Directorate of Cybersecurity –reporting to the Secretariat of Public Innovation of the President’s Chief of Staff Office, highlighted the great dependence of the National Public Administration on information systems and, in particular, on the GDE, which today constitutes an essential tool for the organized, transparent and efficient development of the public sector in general.
Likewise, the Argentine Directorate of Cybersecurity specified the important scope of the GDE, noting that –through its twelve modules, endowed with diverse functions– it plays a significant role in facilitating citizens' access to the procedures with the State, and is essential for decision-making in the National Public Administration.
