At China Mining 2012, the Mining Secretary of the Ministry of Federal Planning, Jorge Mayoral, held a meeting with the representatives of the Chinese company NFC to evaluate the possibility of setting up a project to build the first copper refinery in the country, which has in El Pachón, in San Juan, one of the most important exploitation projects of this mineral in the continent.
