The Ministry of Economy may modify certain market regulations to improve competition

On November 10, 2005 the Ministry of Economy passed a resolution creating a new mechanism to apply a competition rule based on internal and external factors. Any company or group of companies may request the application of this mechanism to any market that they consider to be concentrated. The application must be decided by the Ministry of Economy, following an analysis by a special commission set up for that purpose, and may result in the imposition of measures aimed to facilitate competition.
