Ministry of Economy Suspends Antidumping Measures for Certain "Strategic Supplies"
The aim of the resolution is to reduce prices of certain imported supplies and promote competitiveness in highly-saturated industries, while also reducing the prices of products derived from those production lines.

On June 1, 2023, through Resolution No. 710/2023, the Ministry of Economy resolved to suspend the effects of certain resolutions issued by the former Ministry of Productive Development, the former Ministry of Production and Labor, and the Ministry of Economy, that were in force and which set antidumping measures for a specific set of goods, due to "circumstances derived from general foreign trade policy and for public benefit" (the Resolution).
The Ministry of Economy based its arguments, among others, on article 9 of the Rules for the Implementation of Article VI of the General Tariffs and Trade Agreement, which states that "it is desirable for [antidumping] measures to be imposed on a discretionary basis in the territory of each Member [state], and for the measures to be established below the antidumping margin if such levels would be sufficiently adequate to restore / repair the damages to the domestic industry."
As the Ministry of Economy explained, the purpose of the Resolution is to reduce the prices of certain imported goods, to promote competitiveness in highly saturated industries, and to reduce not only the prices of such goods but also of the products derived from those production lines.
The goods affected by this Resolution are:
