The Agency decided that the companies meet the conditions to offer satellite Internet.

Argentine Communications Agency Authorizes Starlink, Amazon, and Oneweb to Provide Satellite Internet in Argentina

The Argentine Communications Agency (ENACOM) issued Resolutions 1/2024, 2/2024, and 3/2024, published in the Official Gazette on February 26, 2024, authorizing Tibro Netherlands BV Sucursal Argentina (Tibro Netherlands), Oneweb SA (Oneweb), and Amazon Kuiper Argentina SRL (Amazon) to provide satellite internet in Argentina. Furthermore, Resolution 4/2024 authorizes Tibro Netherlands to transfer its licenses to Starlink Argentina SRL.

These resolutions were issued within the framework of Emergency Decree 70/2023, which established the free provision of satellite communications system facilities.
 

Thus:

  1. Through Resolution 1/2024, ENACOM stated that the company Tibro Netherlands complied with the conditions to operate in the frequency segments allocated to the fixed-satellite service in Argentina.
     
  2. Through Resolution 2/2024, it decided that Oneweb complies with the conditions to operate in the frequency segments allocated to fixed and mobile satellite service in Argentina.
     
  3. Through Resolution 3/2024, ENACOM authorized Amazon to operate in the frequency segments allocated to the fixed and mobile satellite service, the fixed-satellite service, and the mobile satellite service in Argentina.
     
  4. Through Resolution 4/2024, it authorized Tibro Netherlands to transfer the license and registration of the fixed-satellite, value added services - internet access, and fixed and mobile satellite services to Starlink Argentina SRL.
