Changes in Informative Signals in Programming Grids

On October 23, 2024, the Argentine Communications Agency (ENACOM) published Resolution 1094/2024 in the Official Gazette, repealing the “General Regulations for Subscription Television Services” approved by Resolution 1491/2020 of ENACOM. The repealed regulation had established, among other matters, that the licensees of Pay TV services—whether physical, radioelectric, or satellite link—had to guarantee the broadcasting of certain signals.

Likewise, Resolution 1094 repeals Resolutions 1645/2017, 2061/2017, 1824/2021, 2387/2022, 774/2023, 776/2023, 836/2023, 1071/2023 of ENACOM and subsection c) of Article 1 of Annex II of Resolution 1555/2022 of the same entity. These resolutions established, in particular, the mandatory inclusion of certain signals of federal and provincial informative content in the corresponding programming grids of subscription television services by physical and/or radio and satellite links.

This measure aligns with the deregulation initiatives advanced by current government policies, aimed at streamlining regulations and promoting competition among subscription television operators.
