Financial Assistance for Senior Citizens
The Decree granted social security economic assistance for a maximum of ARS 70,000, paid in March 2024.

Decree 177/2024 of the Executive Power was published in the Official Gazette on February 23, 2024, creating a one-time economic pension assistance for a maximum of ARS 70,000. According to its recitals, the aid—which will be paid in March—is added to the other two created by Decrees 116/2023 and 81/2024, paid in January and February.
The recitals add that these measures are created considering "the serious socioeconomic situation that our country is going through (...) with special incidence on lower income senior citizens, who need support."
Beneficiaries of this assistance include:
1. Holders of contributory social security benefits granted by Law 24241, in charge of the Argentine Social Security Administration (ANSES); of previous general national regimes; of repealed special regimes; or granted by the former Provincial and Municipal Social Security Funds or Institutes whose regimes were transferred to the Federal State and whose mobility is governed by article 32 of Law 24241; and of the benefits of the regime established by Decree 160/05.
2. Beneficiaries of the universal pension for the elderly, established by article 13 of Law 27260.
3. Beneficiaries of non-contributory pensions for old age, disability, mothers of seven or more children, and other non-contributory pensions and ex gratia pensions ANSES pays.
Additionally, the decree states that for those beneficiaries who, when adding up all their current benefits receive ARS 134,445.30, the social security financial assistance will be equal to the amount necessary to reach the ARS 204,445.30 ceiling.
Finally, the Decree establishes that this social security financial assistance will not be subject to discounts or computable for any other concept.
