Argentina – New Domain Name Extensions and New Official Fees for the Registration of Domain Names
On December 1, 2015 the National Domain Name Administration, entity responsible for the administration of domain names in Argentina, issued Resolution No. 109/2015 which created three new domain name extensions and also new official fees for the registration of domain names under the country code “.ar”.
This Resolution created the following domain name extensions:
- app.ar: available for websites that host applications and websites related thereto.
- pol.ar: only available to political parties recognized under Law N° 23.298.
- seg.ar: only available to insurance companies and insurance brokers authorized by the Argentina Superintendency of Insurance.
It also approved the following new official fees for the registration and renewal of domain names:
