We advised DANONE and CCU on Strategic Alliance
Marval O’Farrell Mairal provided advice on the creation of a strategic alliance for the water business in Argentina. Danone transferred to CCU a minority stake in Aguas Danone de Argentina S.A., owner, among others, of the brands Villavicencio, Ser, Levite, and Villa del Sur.
The joint venture will allow both companies to enrich their beverage offer and strengthen their operations in the country. The closing of the transaction took place on April 28th, 2022.
Marval O’Farrell Mairal acted as legal advisor to Danone through a multidisciplinary team of professionals led by the M&A team with partners Bárbara V. Ramperti and María Laura Bolatti Cristofaro, and associates Gonzalo Márquez Alonso de la Bárcena, Maria Virginia Canzonieri, Daiana Veira and Agustina Maria Giordano; and with the support of the partners Fernando Montes de Oca, Rodrigo Fermín Garcia, Juan Manuel Lopez Mañán and Martin J. Danone counted with the advice of its legal affairs department. Lazard acted as financial advisor to Danone through a team led by Matías Eliaschev, accompanied by Gina Cetina and Isabel de Atucha.
CCU counted with the advice of its Legal Departments of Chile and Argentina, led by Felipe Benavides and Gonzalo Anaya, respectively.
