Patricia López Aufranc was appointed member of the Executive Committee of the International Association of Lawyers (UIA) as Co-Director of the Rule of Law Project. She also has been nominated by Latin Lawyer as one of the inspiring women lawyers in Latin America and as one of the 50 leading women in Argentina by Apertura magazine.
Sovereign Debt: Best Work Award
Agustina M. Ranieri’s paper “Default and after: Argentina, restructuring and holdouts from a law and economics perspective” was awarded the best work in the graduate category at the Competition in homage to Professor Eduardo Rafael Carrasco, organized by the Universidad de Buenos Aires School of Law. The competition was aimed at academic research papers related to sovereign debt matters for Argentina and other countries of the region; the jury was composed of Professors Eduardo Conesa, Miguel Ángel Espeche Gil and Isabel González Nieves.
Anti-Corruption Compliance
Marval, O’Farrell & Mairal organized the Seminar on “Anti-Corruption Compliance in Argentina” held in our offices on December 10, 2013. During the seminar, María Lorena Schiariti, Pedro Serrano Espelta and Enrique M. Stile analyzed the legal and practical issues referred to the implementation of internal anti-corruption compliance programs which meet international standards and their adjustment to the Argentine legal and cultural environment.
