The government of San Juan wants to be certain of what kind of reserves the Province counts on and, in order to do so, it will resort to the Comisión Nacional de Energía Nuclear (National Nuclear Energy Commission) to sign an agreement. According to the preliminary data of the Province, there are at least 4 areas with “potential reserves”: two in the department of Jáchal, known as La Cuesta, in La Ciénaga de Huco y la Enterrada, in the Alto de Huaco; while in Calingasta there is El Carrizal and El Chepical in La Sierra del Volcan, in Iglesia.
