Public Registry of Channels and Producers
The National Executive Power established by means of Decree No. 904/2010 the Public Registry of Channels and Producers, delegating its implementation to the Federal Authority of Audiovisual Communication Services.
Article 58 of the Audiovisual Communication Law Services No. 26,522 (Official Gazette, October 10, 2009) established that the Federal Authority of Audiovisual Communication Services has the obligation to update and give public access to the Public Registry of Channels and Producers. The aforementioned article established that the producers of content and the generating companies and / or companies commercializing channels or exhibition rights for services subject to Law 26,522 will have to be incorporated into the Registry.
By means of Decree No. 904/2010 (Official Gazette, June 29, 2010) the National Executive Power established the Public Registry of Channels and Producers, delegating its implementation to the Federal Authority of Audiovisual Communication Services.
The aforementioned Decree established a term of 10 business days from its publication for the registration.
By means of Resolution AFSCA No. 175/2010 (Official Gazette, June 30, 2010), the Federal Authority of Audiovisual Communication Services approved the forms necessary to request the registration.
The National Executive Power established that the lack of registration of the channels will be considered a “serious non-compliance” (falta grave) under the terms of Law No. 26,522.
