New AI-Powered Virtual Assistant in the Judiciary

Through Resolution 1486/2025, the Argentine Council of the Judiciary approved in late May 2025  a new project for developing a conversational virtual assistant integrated into the Judiciary Management Portal (PJN).

This initiative will be structured in two phases. The first phase is designed to automatically respond to frequently asked questions from external users, such as attorneys, expert witnesses, or representatives of public entities. The second phase will be directed towards PJN internal users and will incorporate specific functionalities for PJN staff, including administrative tools, access to internal data, and extended management and oversight capabilities.

According to the project, the service is intended to:

1.    provide automated and accurate responses to frequently asked questions based on a validated knowledge base,
2.    facilitate prompt access to operational information within the PJN portal,
3.    reduce the workload of support staff through automated responses,
4.    enhance the initial generation and management of support tickets through the External User Support System (SAUE)  for unresolved queries,
5.    offer an integrated, clear, and user-friendly digital interface, and
6.    produce relevant data for statistical analysis and reporting based on recorded user interactions.

The project also includes a continuous process for curating and updating the knowledge base to ensure the relevance and accuracy of responses. In parallel, an active technical monitoring system will also be implemented, allowing the infrastructure to be adjusted in line with the evolution of demand, thereby ensuring the system's long-term availability, stability, and efficiency

Finally, the assistant will be built on a scalable and secure architecture. The Resolution established that all data will be processed in compliance with the Personal Data Protection Law 25326 and its complementary regulations and that, before accessing the service, users will be required to accept the applicable terms and conditions and the assistant’s privacy policy.

The virtual assistant will not be authorized to provide legal advice, access specific case files, or process sensitive or biometric data.
