According to La Mañana de Neuquén, the potassium mine to be exploited by Vale at Malargüe will produce, at current values, 100,000 million dollars of the fertilizer. The Brazillian company aims to commence production of 2.4 million annual tons by mid-2013, but expects to reach 4.3 million tons rapidly. The reservoir estimate of the mine allows to sustain this production level for at least 50 years.
