Serious institutional crisis in Labor Justice
The Argentine Supreme Court of Justice urged the Judicial Council to act on the institutional gravity of Labor Justice.
After a series of requests from the Argentine Labor Court of Appeals and the Bar Association of the City of Buenos Aires, the Argentine Supreme Court of Justice requested that the Judicial Council arbitrate a series of urgent measures that aim to address the serious institutional crisis that Labor Justice is going through.
The required measures are the following:
(i) Request the labor courts to conduct a report on the statistics of their cases;
(ii) Conduct an audit to ascertain the state of their situation;
(iii) Create 98 labor positions for labor courts by means of a rapid and expeditious exam procedures;
(iv) Improve and adapt the building and infrastructure conditions.
The Supreme Court ordered these measures taking into consideration the impact of the severity of the judicial crisis on the service of justice and the conduct of lawyers, which ultimately affects the corporate sector and employers’ unions.
