Captivated by the rising levels of mineral exploration, production and exports presented by Catamarca, executives of the BAL group, the world’s largest silver producer, wish to develop prospective works in Catamarca. For this purpose, Jaime Lomelin, the group’s director, agreed with the Mining Secretary, Jorge Mayoral, and the authorities of Catamarca, a prompt visit in order to coordinate meetings and tours over different zones with great potential. The Mexicans conclude that Catamarca offers the most suitable geological and legal scenario in the country for investing in the search for new metal reservoirs.
