Pro Bono Commission Declared to Be of Social Interest

On July 3, 2025, the Legislature of the City of Buenos Aires approved Statement 229/2025, which recognizes the work of the Pro Bono and Public Interest Commission of the City of Buenos Aires Bar Association as being of social interest. This distinction recognizes the Commission's work in providing free legal advice to vulnerable communities, thus promoting equitable access to justice.
The award was presented in the Golden Hall of the City of Buenos Aires Legislature on November 13, 2025, and the ceremony highlighted the Commission's 25-year history and its commitment to expanding Pro Bono work throughout Argentina.
Members of the legal, business, civil society, academic, and political communities attended the ceremony. The event highlighted the milestones during the Commission's 25-year history, which included Marval O’Farrell Mairal's role as one of its founding law firms and drafter of the Pro Bono Declaration for the Americas.
Of counsel Gonzalo Fontana and associates Martina Salimei and Julia Anabel Sainz (all in charge of Marval’s Pro Bono Program), attended the ceremony. Julia was also one of the speakers at the event.
