Public Employees Will Now Receive Training on Disability
The City of Buenos Aires set guidelines and minimum contents to train its employees on disability matters.
Law 6755 makes disability training mandatory for all those working in the public sector, regardless of how they were hired. This includes employees from the Executive, Legislative, and Judiciary branches. The training is managed by the Commission for the Full Participation and Inclusion of People with Disabilities (COPIDIS).
According to Resolution 40, issued on June 27, 2025, COPIDIS states that the training must include (at least):
- definition and general concepts of disability,
- the different types of disability,
- information about the Unified Disability Certificate (CUD),
- accessibility in both physical and digital spaces,
- common stereotypes and discrimination people with disabilities face,
- an explanation of the applicable laws and regulations.
Finally, the Resolution establishes that examination can be either online or in person, and each type of exam must meet specific equipment and infrastructure requirements.
