If you cannot see this mail click here | Si no puede ver el correo haga click aquí Esp     MINING NEWS Monthly Report July 2017 Legislative News and Regulations   Province of Jujuy Resolution N° 21/2017 dated 07/17/2017 of the Ministry of Mining and Hydrocarbons, published in the Official Gazette on 07/28/2017 Establishes the obligation of holders of mining rights registered in the Province of Jujuy´s Mining Producers Registry, and/or owners of right of exploration or with approved environmental report in force, to present quarterly and annually sworn declarations to the Ministry of Mining and Hydrocarbons, in which they include updated information on the labor force, deductions and contributions, purchases and contracted services, programs and actions of Corporate Social Responsibility and Training Programs in the mining projects that are holders and/or those with deeds that allow them to exploit or explore minerals in them. Quarterly sworn statements should be submitted within the first month after the quarter to be reported, while the annual sworn statement will be submitted in conjunction with the submission of the last quarter of the year (October-December). The first maturity for the first presentation of the current year will be October 31, 2017, reporting the July-September 2017 quarter, as well as for the annual presentation for the year 2016.   Province of San Juan Law No. 1600-P dated 07/05/2017 of the Province of San Juan, published in the Official Gazette on 08/01/2017. Establishes the power of the municipalities with mining activity in its territory to propose to the Ministry of Mining of the Province a Municipal Attorney in environmental mining matters. This Municipal Attorney must have a qualifying degree in mining or environmental matters and its specific functions will be determined by the enforcement authority (Ministry of Mining of the Province). The scope of action of the Municipal Attorney will be in the deposits located in the departmental jurisdiction that he/she represents and in the area of influence (to be determined by the enforcement authority). Argentine Mining in the Media   "The Iglesia department alone has 23 geological areas of high mining potential", published by Télam on 07/25/17. A report from the Argentine Geological Mining Service (Segemar) indicates that the province of San Juan has more than 650 square kilometers with high mineralization, especially metalliferous, and 23 areas in the Iglesia department, with a high probability of being transformed into new deposits, within the four jurisdictions under evaluation, which will allow the development of an ambitious exploration plan to expand gold and silver mining in the medium term. Within the "triangle of lithium", along with Chile and Bolivia, Argentina is the most dynamic producer: it grew 58% in 2016. According to the president of the Chamber of Mining Entrepreneurs (CAEM), Marcelo Alvarez, "Argentina is better positioned than Chile in terms of expectations and the presence of important mining companies who are accelerating their investments, taking advantage of high demand, high prices and technological innovation" he says. The country currently has two projects in operation: Salar de Olaroz (which operates the Altiplano Minera, a subsidiary of FMC Lithium) and Salar del Hombre Muerto (operated by Sales de Jujuy, Toyo Tsucho and Orocobre). Together, they produce 30,000 tons of lithium, which represents 16% of world production. "There are four other projects under construction and the rest is at the feasibility stage" says Alvarez. All rights reserved.   Eng     MINING NEWS Reporte Mensual julio 2017 Novedades Legislativas y Regulatorias   Provincia de Jujuy Resolución Nº 21/2017 de la Secretaría de Minería e Hidrocarburos de Jujuy de fecha 17/07/2017, publicada en el Boletín Oficial el 28/07/2017. Establece la obligación de los titulares de derechos mineros inscriptos en el Registro de Productores Mineros de Jujuy y/o titulares de derecho de exploración o con informe de impacto ambiental aprobados vigente de presentar, ante la Secretaría de Minería e Hidrocarburos, declaraciones juradas trimestrales y anuales, en las cuales se detalle información actualizada acerca de la mano de obra, contribuciones y aportes, compras y servicios contratados, programas y acciones de responsabilidad social empresaria y programas de capacitación en los proyectos mineros de los que son titulares y/o en los que tienen título que los habilite a la explotación o exploración de minerales. Las declaraciones juradas trimestrales deberán ser presentadas dentro del primer mes posterior al trimestre a informar, mientras que la declaración jurada anual será presentada conjuntamente con la presentación del último trimestre del año (octubre-diciembre). El primer vencimiento para la primera presentación del corriente año será el 31 de octubre de 2017, y el trimestre que se debe informar es el de julio-septiembre de 2017. En esta misma fecha, deberá hacerse también la presentación anual correspondiente al 2016.   Provincia de San Juan Ley N° 1600-P de la Provincia de San Juan de fecha 05/07/2017, publicada en el Boletín Oficial el 01/08/2017. Establece la facultad de los municipios con actividad minera en su territorio de proponer ante el Ministerio de Minería de la provincia un procurador municipal en materia ambiental minera. Dicho procurador municipal deberá contar con título habilitante en materia minera o ambiental y sus funciones específicas serán determinadas por la autoridad de aplicación (Ministerio de Minería de la provincia). El ámbito de actuación del procurador municipal serán los yacimientos situados en la jurisdicción departamental a la que representa y en la zona de influencia (a determinar por la autoridad de aplicación). La minería argentina en los medios   “Sólo el Departamento de Iglesia posee 23 áreas geológicas de alto potencial minero”, publicado por Télam el 25/07/17. Un informe del Servicio Geológico Minero Argentino (Segemar) indica que la provincia de San Juan cuenta con más de 650 kilómetros cuadrados con alta mineralización, especialmente metalífera, y 23 áreas en el Departamento de Iglesia, con altas probabilidades de transformarse en nuevos yacimientos, dentro del conjunto de cuatro jurisdicciones que están en evaluación, lo que permitirá desarrollar un ambicioso plan de exploraciones para ampliar la extracción de oro y plata en el mediano plazo. “Argentina y el ‘oro blanco’: el país se convierte en meca regional de las inversiones mundiales en litio”, publicado por iProfesional el 31/07/17. Dentro del "triángulo del litio", junto con Chile y Bolivia, la Argentina es el productor más dinámico: creció 58% en 2016.
